New to group

2007-01-31 21:26:14

WOW!
I can't believe it! Theres actually a group for us Stimulator
people. I've had mine since March of 99 & I love it. It is a virtual
life saver. I have chest, rib, and back pain, and for the 8 years
prior to finding my nuerosurgeon I didn't know if I was going to
live or die. I made countless trips to the E.R., made my rounds with
several different kinds of drs, and was pretty much just miserable
the whole time. Now I find a web group! Fantastic.

I didn't let any one know, but I drove to New York by my self. Yah,
yah, but it's too late for any flack from any one, I'm home! The
trip,
itself, was uneventful, but long and emotionally and physically
tireing.
On the heels of the memorial service, I had our younger daughter to
worry about. She is the one who lives in Mobile, AL. She didn't
think
she could evacuate, as she had waited too long and she was telling me
about their "preperations". My older grandson had a sleeping bag
next
to his bed and he was to take it into his bathroom and get in the
bathtub and up with it. My daughter was to take our middle grandson
and cover both of them with his mattress.Needless to say I was
frantic! As it turned out the did evacuate, as far as Baton Rouge,
LA.
and were able to get the last available motel room. Once again the
hurricain hit just east of them and so they were spared any major
damage, but masses of rain.
Well, needless to say, I am tired and sore. will post more when I can.
Peace and Love to all.

Stimulator acting weird!!

2007-01-29 20:31:10

To anyone who has a SCS:
I had my SCS from ANS implanted 9/9/03 @ N. KC Hosp. Now that the
scar tissue is developing to secure the electrodes, I don't notice
the sensations as intense when I turn on my programmer; but then if I
move just right; stretch or bend, etc.; it then feels like someone
has turned it on high! Then I cannot get ahold of the magnet or
programmer fast enough to turn it down. Has anyone else experienced
this? Lisa in NE KS

Re: [rsdlifeline] Free Medication Programs & Other Stuff

2007-01-29 00:43:19

In comment to this wonderful listing of the numerous Pharmaceutical Manufactures here is a little more I have learned recently on obtaining free medications. If your Dr. does not have the forms for the specific drug company then call them at tone of the numbers listed here. Many Dr's do have these forms already and they will have to not only be filled out by your Dr. but signed as well as a written RX accompanying the form. You may fax these forms to speed things up and then snail mail the original to the drug company. Some drug companies will set you up with a local Pharmacy to pick your meds up at and others will mail your meds to you but not to a P. O. Box and a lot of mailed meds will require someone to be there to sign for the meds when they arrive by mail. There is also a company that you can get your medical supplies and medscations from if you are a workers compensation claim. Here is their website: Welcome to PMSI Online. They are also associated wtih this
website that is a mail order Pharmacy for others who have Insurance:

Welcome to PharMerica. If you happen to not be able to fall into one of these categories or are unable to qualify for the drug companies assistance programs try one of the places I will list at the bottom of this message. Hope some of my inp[ut also helps. Thanks so much Dori for typing up these long emails for all to get this much valuable info.

bible study for Thurs and Fri

2007-01-28 10:09:40

this is for Thurs. and Friday.
Acts5:12-42 Suffering for Christ
In 2 Timothy Paul warns us that everyone who wants to live a Godly life in
Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
Sometimes it won't be very obvious, but it will be there.
In Acts 4: 12-16, how would summarize the day-to-day activities in the temple
area?
Why do you think the Sadducees were jealous of the apostles?
How and why does the Lord mock the power of the assembly of the Sanhedrin?
When might your obedience to God conflict with the authority of man?
What aspects of the gospel offend people in our culture?
In what ways can our obedience to God be costly today?
How has it been costly for you?
Dear Father, we thank you for the opportunity to suffer for Christ. Hanging on
the cross, all He had to do was forsake us, and his torure would have ended.
Yet, when we think of suffering, it is not of physical torture that we endure,
it is only the trite, inconvenient, and somewhat discomforting aspects.
Harassment on the job,
being 'different', not fitting in, being mocked, spiritual warfare, end of
relationships with worldly friends, strife between family members, being called
'fanatics'. Where is the suffering? It is not when compared to what Jesus
endured, and we are thankful for each and every opportunity to be set aside as a
follower of Christ Jesus. Lord, you called us to live in the world, but not be
part of...Lord I ask your guidance in this. Show me how..... Lord, more
importantly, show me how to show my children how...already they are 'different'
and 'don't fit in', Lord I ask that you give them the peace of knowing that they
are living their lives for you, and only in walking with you will they find true
contentment. Lord, I ask that you show me how to be an example to them in this
and all things. We thank you, we love you Father, we give you all the glory.
Amen.

I Believe

2007-01-28 10:05:53

"I Believe"

I believe that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
I believe that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I believe that true friendship continues to grow even over the longest distances. The same goes for true love.
I believe that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
I believe that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I believe that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I believe that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I believe that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I believe that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take it's place.
I believe that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I believe that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I believe that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
I believe that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I believe that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I believe that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want him or her to doesn't mean they don't love you with all he or she has.
I believe that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I believe that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I believe that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I believe that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
I believe that you shouldn't be eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I believe that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I believe that your life can be changed, in a matter of hours, by people who don't even know you.
I believe that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
I believe that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I believe that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

Re: [Stimulator] Digest Number 22

2007-01-28 05:20:59

Richard, My doctor had me wait a couple weeks after the trial implant was
taken out to then be able to tell how much it really HAD helped while it was
on. There is some carryover when it's off but I'm not sure how long. I
actually didn't get that much help from the one wire trial but they finally
decided (as in the doctor and workman's comp) I needed to have one put in
with the two wire implant with conductor pads and a laminotomy so the wires
are right next to my spinal cord. It helped some but not as much as I had
wished for. I'm still on Hydrocodone tablets and Duragesic patches (50 mg)

Stimulator trial question

2007-01-27 11:15:41

I have a hereditary, small fiber neuropathy. The primary symptom is
pain but I do have other symptoms. I have not had success with other
treatments so far. I have just started a stimulator trial. They were
hoping to be able to direct the current to my feet but this was not
able to happen.
Right after the procedure I noticed that the pain in my feet was less
and assumed that it was due to the drugs during the procedure and the
pain meds given after (my back was very, very sore due to the
unanticipated length of the trial procedure while they kept trying to
hit my feet).
However, the drugs have obviously worn off and now the next day I
still have some improvement in my feet. My doc thinks that either the
procedure itself caused the improvement, which she says has happened
in the past with some of her patients, or that the stimulator may be
working. The curious thing, at least to me, is that I have notice no
immediate difference in pain level in my feet with the stimulator on
or with the stimulator off. My doc says that it is possible that the
stimulator is helping over time and that I might not have an immediate
reaction to it being off or on.
I would appreciate any input whether this has been true for you. I had
just assumed that the pain would be better right away when it is on
and be worse when I turn it off. I turned it off completely last night
and my feet still felt better this AM. Could one get that much
carryover right away?
BTW, my doc wants to take it out on Monday so I need to make a
decision by then.
I hope I didn't prattle on too much here but thanks in advance for any
feedback.
Richard

Don't Quit

2007-01-26 22:06:39

"Don't Quit"

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow.
You may succeed with another blow
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds no doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
that you must not quit.

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me

2007-01-26 17:52:29

"If Tomorrow Starts Without Me"

I've dreamed many dreams that never came true,
If tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
The thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past,
But here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times
You did some things
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand
And share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

Knee Joint Replacement

2007-01-25 16:15:29

Chris

August 26, 1993--Mary Jaynes with family in tow, (Mom, Dad, husband, sons) goes to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Greenup, KY. We were

set to arrive at 6 a.m. to register. By 7:30 She is in surgery where Dr. Love is performing a total bilateral knee joint replacement.

Fast forward to May 17, 2000. It has been almost 7 years and the surgery is still having its desired effect. I am still walking with both feet on the ground and with no cane or other assistance. AND I AM PAIN-FREE!!!!! At least my knees are. I still have the fibro and arthritis in my spine to contend with.

On June 15, go into surgery singing because the end result will be worth it. If the dr thinks you need both knees done; GO FOR IT BY ALL MEANS!!!!!

I will keep you in my prayers that you will have as easy a time with your surgery as I had with mine

Mary J

Update

2007-01-22 23:01:48

Just a quick line to let you all know we managed to get the A/C repaired to the tune of $275.00. Now I have to figure out how the heck to pay for the elec. and phone bill after spending this on the A/C. We have yet to get the well fixed and so far it is not looking all that good on that. I have been driving over to a neighbors and filling up huge volumes of water in containers. On Thursday it rained 2 times really good so we headed outside and took a shower in the rain LOL. Hey it worked and we felt so much better afterwards. This no water is the pits though. We just happened to have a 300 gallon cattle water trough and it was full of rain water so it is being used to flush toilets and non essential stuff that does not require quality water. So far it looks like it is not the capacitors or relay switches and this could mean a huge expense to get this fixed. I mean like in the several thousands $$ such as pulling the one there that is 320 ft. feet deep and
re-drilling a new well completely. To pull the well pump you must pull the well. To pull the well you need a special truck to pull the long sections of pipe. Anyway we are camping in the house. I have learned so much here with no water for a week and no A/C for almost 2 weeks. We will have our Arbitration 3 way phone call to figure out when and where it will take place and about doing a document exchange on the 21st. I got my response to the Atty. on my Work Comp Appeal faxed off a few days ago and hopefully that will come in very soon. In the mean time we are watching the Gulf and Hurricane Dennis. My Father in Law is in Fl and he is worried about this one. So please pray this thing goes elsewhere or fizzles out one which I seriously doubtit will. The Gulf waters are way warm for this early in the Tropical season and this is the earliest Hurricane of this size ever. This will not be good for anywhere it goes in at. Have a good week end and hope all are pain free
as much as can be.

Debbie

John,
I had the same problem, at first. They need lots of adjusting until the
Medtronic rep gets the pain covered more adequately. Also, you will get more
used to that tingly feeling. I hardly notice mine at all anymore! (except for
when the battery goes out and I again realize how much pain I was having without
it!)

RE: [Stimulator] Problems with trial

2007-01-20 18:19:34

Hi John.
I had that problem in the first month after mine was implanted.
I met with the Medtronic's rep 4 times in the first month to have it
re-adjusted.
Make an appointment with your rep as soon as possible, they CAN help.
Mine has not moved for over 3 months now!
I had mine implanted May 27, 2003.
Hope this helps!
Shanin

Problems with trial

2007-01-20 12:47:22

The implant must be moving because I cannot get the level of the
programmer at a good setting. If I move just a little bit, just
breathing sometimes, it changes. I cannot tell if it will increase
or decrease. If the electrical stimulation increases it usually
makes me jump out of my skin (such as an getting jolted my an short
circuit from a electric wire.)
I have had to turn it off several times due to this problem. Last
night it wouldn't let me get to sleep, not that I sleep that much
anyway. This morning, same thing, it is driving me crazy.
Yesterday, before it started acting up, I went for a walk with my
wife for the first time in a year. I could adjust it to cover this
pain as it increased. I have notice there are times when it
actually made the pain worse too. Weird.
I am going to call the nurse tech from Medtronic to see what she
has to say. Any suggestion from any of you would be helpful.
Thanks. John

Re: [rsdlifeline] Checking In/Sandy

2007-01-20 09:03:03

Sandy, I am so sorry you had to work over the holiday. We live in Texas not all that far up from Houston. We too watch all the Tropical weather. I see we have a new Hurricane to keep up with, Dennis. I hope we both are spared from this one as it looks bad and is still so far away.

All, update: The A/C well let's say we rigged it temporary for a day anyway. My husband is always coming up with some idea that looks strange but hey it works. We have this huge Commercial high velocity fan. We unbolted it from the stand and placed it blowing up to remove the hot air from the A/C fan motor and coils. So far works like a charm. This tells us the A/C is definitely the fan motor. I called the A/C man to come out on Wednesday and we talked and he never showed up. I was going to be able to give him 2 post dated checks to get this thing fixed. Now my husband has decided he no showed and knew we were sweltering so he plans to go buy the fan himself tomorrow wholesale from the Mfg. This will save us over $100 doing it ourselves. Only way we get away with this is we still have a Federal, ID number even for us personally for business purposes in case we need it. One a good note an ex neighbor showed up at 8am Wednesday morning with his tractor and him and my
husband both spent all day mowing here. He left it here and will come back late tomorrow afternoon to pick it up. Poor Mike and his back will never be the same. The Dr. office called Wednesday about him and it is my Ortho Dr. Well, seems he knows the situation here and knows we need him to fill out some papers for him to appeal his no medical coverage being paid for by his Ins. Co. So he is going to see Mike for free on the 20th and we will get all of the mess going for him soon. His Ins. Co. decided he no longer needs any further medical treatment. His Ins. Co. is the worst. His Adjuster flat refuses to talk to me anymore as I crawled her legally several times and threatened her with a lawsuit. Looks like her lack of care for him and not paying after they have approved for treatments and even approved in writing then decided not to pay, her bubble is about to burst on this. My new inside person that my Senator got to help me with my case has given me an arm full of
ammo to go after the Ins. Co. Our Dr. knows I am well versed as the Employer already and we always have long conversations about Work Comp when I go in. I was given some very beneficial information that will benefit the Dr. for his not being paid not just for us any others who were approved for treatment in writing and then not paid for the services rendered. This was music to his ears and will help him tremendously be able to collect thousands of dollars owed to him or his practice for MRI's and stuff. There was a recent meeting in the State Capitol and the Texas Workers Comp. Commissioner attended and so did my lady who is helping me. The Commissioner said that if there are any unpaid medical bills to Dr. for services that were approved in writing to call him directly or another man and I was given the direct phone numbers for this to be addressed. Needless to say my Dr. was happy to learn I found this out as it was not made known to the medical profession. In fact
it was not made known to anyone that did not attend this meeting. He seems to be so amazed at the information I have been able to learn about and fill him in on. So we inform each other and it makes a very workable Dr. patient relationship. I guess not too many have the direct phone numbers for their Dr's or their nurses let alone the pager, cell and home phone numbers. I take my relationship with my Dr's who I have been fortunate enough to gain this info. very seriously. Now if I could just get my Pain Mgmt. Dr. to be like this I will have it made. Anyway he is going to see Mike on the 20th and fill out papers for him and get him lined out again. I am waiting on an appeal for medical necessity which is in the works already. I faxed this same info. to Mike's Pain Mgmt. Dr. who is owed over $20,000.00 for procedures they got approved and did and were never paid so his Dr. stopped seeing him. Now his bad back is all messed up from stopped treatment. He broke his back in
6 places in 1983 and healed well from that. He was in an Ultra Light Airplane crash. Then one day in 1998 while on one of our jobs his back snapped so loudly while doing something the guy standing next to him heard it as he crumpled to the ground and had to be taken to the ER via ambulance. His back was spasing so badly it was going around into his diaphragm and caused him to be unable to breathe well. He has 5 Thoracic disc herniations all inoperable and 2 Lumbar herniations and a whole host of other problems as well. I never have had a problem in his understanding my pain as he has his own pain as well. I have decided though that women can deal much better with pain than men ever could. On the well we are thinking it may be a relay or a capacitor. We have a call into a friend who runs large community water wells for rural cities to see if he can maybe shed some light on this or possibly have the truck to pull the well with. I have been busy on the phone for days
now trying to get information or help. I may have gotten some small help with the Elec. bill, but will not know until Friday. It is funny how when you call one person asking all of a sudden 1/2 the County knows and soon people are arriving like the man with his tractor. He also came loaded down with fresh green beans, red potatoes and yard eggs thanks to his wife. They are the ones we got the meat from. Maybe my black cloud is starting to break up and hopefully good will start soon. I find out tomorrow when we have our 1st 3 way phone conversation with the appointed Arbitrator and the Mfg. of the house their Atty. and us and we will set up all of this to take place soon. All we need is 1 thing to go our way and that will help tremendously. Please keep those prayers coming and be sure to add to that a pray Hurricane Dennis goes elsewhere. Betty, I got the word back on for you and Jim and when I get the info. tomorrow I will send it to you. Can you please email me
your phone number and I can call you with it when I get it so you can get right on the matter. (((((HUGS))))) to all. Music is beneficial to your mental and physical health and makes you feel good inside. Always listening to music here and singing and it does make you feel better it does me. Mail, going to Gatineau, CA!

2007-01-19 14:10:01

Greetings everyone.
Please stop my mail for a couple of weeks, for we are going to Gatineau, Canada,
for two weeks.
Unfortunately I had a bad fell last Sunday, fell down a flight of stairs, 5
stairs, second fall this year on the same stairs I just had an MRI done for the
first fall, and have not seen the results yet. I guess those pictures are void
now. I'll propbably need to be worked up again. I am hurting pretty bad, landed
on my arm and turned it backwards with all my weight on it landed between the
stairs, don't know how I didn't break it, but I lucked out I guess. The back,
legs, and feet are hurting pretty bad, and I'm tired because I haven't been able
to sleep much because of the pain keeping me up. My pain meds were just at the
point where I was comfortable and now it doesn't seem to be working much, and I
won't be seeing the doc for a while because I am still going for that psysco
evaluation, and can't see him until I finish that. it has been a difficult
week, just before our planned trip, but Linda is doing the driving and I will
just lay back in the Van. Nothing will stand in the way of our plans.
We love you all, and will let you know when we return, If you try to write back
we will be gone about 5PM EST, on Wednesday afternoon.

Welcome Chris!
We are so glad you joined us!
The basic idea is an on line bible study, that I post to the list M-F, and then
I am (usually) in chat at
10:00AM pacific time (MugNMuffin), and 4:30 Pm pacific time(Teatime).... on
Mondays, I post the scriptures for the week, but I do post a bible study
(almost) everyday.
Today, I was not in chat because I am very very sick today....much pain, much
nausea, new nighttime meds gave me a 'hangover' and I have excrucitaing pain in
my neck, jaw, face and head today. My head feels like it about 3 sizes to big
for my neck to hold up! So I will post a bible study later, and hope to be at
Teatime today....and just a reminder, feel free to 'beep' me on AIM anytime!

it. I will tell you this It cannot hurt to get the Trial And see what
happens. Most who have the Stimulator do have good results there a few
that it just doesnt work. It should reduce your Neuopathic pain. I
hope I was helpful.

Well, the holiday is over and I hope we all survived it without too
much trouble and had a great time. Sherry, you and your whole family
are in my prayers with a special prayer for your father-in-law.
Lynn, my prayers are with you and your family as well. The next few
days are going to be very hard for you and I only wish I could help
you get through it. Please tell Harry to drive safely and let us know
when you can how you are doing.
Anna, my goodness girl! You belong to 36 groups? How do you keep
track of them all? I think my fingers would get worn out trying to
keep up with all that mail.
Debbie, I sure hope that you have found some sort of help with the
A/C and the well. It's just too hot to not have either of those. You
are also in my prayers.
Lynda I will be looking for you online so we can talk.
Sandy, try not to work too hard and just watch for me so that we can
also talk sometime.
Dori, do I still have the right phone number for you or has it

Everyone have a lovely day doing whatever you need to but as little

It is hard living with a disease wondering if we are being punished for

Hello everyone,
Well I see my one message that I posted so that is a good thing. More
bad family news. We were just told by my mother-in-law that our step
father-in-law has colon cancer. They found 4 small tumors in his
colon and one large mass. They will be doing further testing to see
if it is seems to be contained only to his colon and he is to have
surgery very soon to remove probably his whole colon and so he will
have to have a colostomy I'm sure.
Unfortunately for him he was very late in getting checked out as he
has had blood in his stool for about 4 months now and has just went to
see about it in the last couple of weeks as he has been so very tired
and weak but that is because he is an anemic from all of the blood
loss over the last few months.
Men I swear!!! They say they don't like going to Dr.s, well who does.
Most of his side of the family has died from heart problems and he has
had heart attacks in the past too and he has a very enlarged heart too.
He has already lost 2 younger brothers and a sister to heart attacks
plus just a few months back he lost his son to a heart attack.
I think he thinks he doesn't have long to live anyway so he has been
spending money like there is no tomorrow. Not good for my mother-in-
law who is one of the sweetest and kindest persons I know.
Well all of that is a story in its own but I thought none the less I
would ask the group for there prayers for Richard and his family.
Thank You to all

2007-01-16 20:43:11

I had my first stimulator implanted in January of 1999 and have had
several upgrades since then!
Last weekend, I had to turn it off because it was causing my legs to
cramp in rhythm with the "beat" of the stim! (if that makes any
sense!)
This is the 3rd time that has happened so it isn't a regular
occurance.
I am meeting with the Medtronic rep this AM, so wondered if anyone
else has had this problem and what can be done about it?
thanking you in advance,

Introduction

2007-01-15 23:46:08

Good Morning!
My name is chris and I joined your group today. I am 44,and
married to a wonderful man, (Scott), for 11 years. This is a second
marriage for both of us, so we have 7 children. There are 6 boys
(ages 15-23) and 1 girl (24). We live in Massachusetts.
I have Degenerative Joint Disease and Depression. I will be
having a total knee replacement June 15th.
I enjoy crocheting and counted cross stitch. I enjoy trying new
crafts when ever I am able.
There are many times throughout my life when I questioned why
God has put me through terrible trials. Yet, in my heart I know
there is a reason. Many times I have been able to help or understand
someone else because of the experiences the Lord has given me. I
often have thought the road I was traveling was too hard, yet I
always got through. Psalm 27 is one of my favorite sources of
strength, how ironic it was also a bible study here.
I look forward to getting to know each of you.
God Bless,
chris

Goodmorning Anna,
I haven't read all of the posts and so some one has probably told you
of the great teen group on the main RSD web site!!! Just incase you
missed that or wasn't told as of yet they have one of the best RSD
site that I have ever seen as they have something for everyone and has
the most info out there that I know of anyway.
Have you visited the site yet??? If not it is www.rsdhope.org and it
is just a absolutely fabulous web site for all things associated with
RSD/CRPS.
Thats great news about the new school with the elevator for you to
use!!!
My mom does not appear to be sick or anything from her kidney problems
as of yet and hopefully she will improve with the med change if that
is the major cause of it. Hopefully anyway!!!
Well I wish you a good day.

Re: ThornsonMyRoses good news & sad news

2007-01-15 03:33:53

Dear Jayne,
Your sense of hope and optimism encouraged my heart at the late hour of
1:30am. Praise the Lord for your good news, I rejoice with you!! I am also
so sorry for your bad news...sometimes there are no words other than to say
you are in my prayers. I remember when I tried to convince myself that I did
not have lupus and fibromyalgia despite living with it everday for 8 years.
At the time my rhuematologist told me to "get over it and get on with your
life." Although I knew in my heart he was right, hearing the words out loud
and spoken so plainly crushed me. BUT, we have an awesome and mighty God
who can do anything!!! So, I wait on the Lord and know someday Iwewill be
healed...maybe not in my life time or yours here on earth...but SOMEDAY!!!
Take care, In His Love, Diane

weak legs

2007-01-12 17:57:54

Hi everyone I'm still recovering from the surgical procedure but I have a
question to ask I've had sporadic periods where I could not walk at all because
when I put weight on my legs my knees just fold up under me they won't stay
straight and I end up on my knees well since my second surgery I have had
continuous weakness in that area and I haven;t been able to stand yet I was
wondering if anyone else experienced more weakness after the stimulator implant
I have a lot less pain so it's doing it's job but I guess I'm hoping the
weakness is temporary

Lessons from a Dandelion

2007-01-12 04:56:31

Lessons from a Dandelion
The world is coming alive again. Isn't spring grand?
I was walking my dog the other day and I noticed a yard full of
dandelions. What a wonderful sight. Even the name is fun. Dandy lions. I
always picture a big, friendly lion with a silly grin on his face. I love
dandelions. I know some people consider them weeds, but I don't. I think
dandelions are wonderful flowers with a lesson for all of us to learn.
Do you remember feeling a special attraction to dandelions when you were a
child?
I remember bringing fistfuls of dandelions to my mother. It didn't matter
that the stems were sticky. It didn't matter that both my parents cursed
the existence of these flowers when they crept into the lawn. I thought
they were beautiful.
Beautiful and plentiful! At least once a week my father would chop off all
the heads with the lawn mower, and those he missed my brothers, sister and
I would pick. We'd pop the blossoms off the stem with a snap of our
fingers. Even so, it seemed like the supply of dandelions never ran low.
For the flowers that escaped the honor of being delivered to my mother,
the trauma of experiencing my father's lawn mower, or the horror of
suffering through a childhood game, there was a whole other level of
existence.
I don't recall ever seeing a dandelion in transition. Perhaps I never paid
enough attention to the process. Perhaps I knew it would steal the magic
of the transformation if I watched it scientifically. It just seemed like
one day there would be a bright, yellow blossom and the next, there would
be a soft, round puff of nose tickling seeds. I wondered if, like a
snowflake, no too dandelion puffs were alike.
These puffs were a marvel. Sometimes we'd use furious movement to quickly
disperse the seeds into the wind. Other times we'd blow softly to see how
strongly they grasped their core. And when they could hold on no longer,
they gently drifted off to spread their joy elsewhere. One way would leave
me squealing in delight, the other would leave me watching in wonder.
And now, as yellow dots appear in the greenness of my lawn, I think of all
the lessons we can learn from this so-called weed.
Imagine having the staying power of a dandelion. Imagine stretching your
roots so deep and straight that no amount of tugging on your stem would
tear you completely from the source that gives you life. Imagine if you
came back to face the world with a bright, sunshiny face even after
someone had run you over with a lawnmower, or snapped your head off while
singing a silly song. Imagine if your foliage, the things you've
accomplished in this world, were a nutritious source of vitamins that
helped others grow strong. Imagine if you could spread love, encouragement
and compassion as freely and fully as this flower spreads seeds of itself.
The lawns at my parents' home are now beautiful green blankets. The only
patches of color come from well-placed, well-controlled flower beds.
Chemicals have finally managed to destroy what human persistence couldn't.
But I hope that we can be different. I hope that we can stretch our roots
deep enough so that the strongest poisons of anger, fear, hate, envy and
criticism can't reach our souls. I hope that the next time you see a
dandelion, you'll stop and think about the lessons it can teach you. I
hope you'll see a flower in a world that sees weeds.

Also, please note that I changed my user name on AIM, to crochetin4Christ.Please

I will post the scriptures for this week's bible studies tomorrow afternoon, in
a seperate post from tomorrow's bible study.....so, if you want to be surprised
each day, ignore the post with weekly bible studies in the title!
I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day, it was a very special mother's day for
me, as it is my first with 3 kids, instead of 1.......and the boys have really
attached to me as 'mom', they even both wrote I love you in their handmade
cards......made me cry...sniff, sniff....

Even if the majority agrees with an idiotic idea, it is still an idiotic

Lynda, Look at the address! It isn't our group! I was afraid there would
be problems like this but it isn't us Sweetie.

Good Bye all

2007-01-09 20:13:50

I received an email today saying I was removed from the group for
unacceptable behavior, which is not true, so someone is playing games
with me and I don't appreciate it. I have enough problems without this
bs. It was signed group management. I do not accept this. I have been
nothing but good to every person in this group, and I hate head games.
So, whoever it is who is trying to be funny or whatever, it's not
funny. If you don't want me in the group, fine. I'm gone.
